After watching my freshly “torrented” episode 2 of the 2nd season of NBC’s Heroes, I thought I might write something about one of my favorite TV shows. And it’s ironic really that I have favorite “TV Shows” since I don’t really watch regular television. But then again, Heroes is no ordinary show so it’s worth diverting my attention to it for 45mins every episode. So what did I find out after watching the first two episodes? Read more after the jump! Be warned though as there will be spoilers!
The Heroes cast being interviewed about Season 2The events in Season 2 takes place four months after the “bomb episode” that is the Season 1 finale. Nathan Petrelli has grown a full beard and moustach ala Bin Laden and lives alone as a drunkard. Hiro Nakamura is still trapped in the 1600s feudal Japan. Noah and Claire Bennet is now hiding under another name and trying to live normal lives. And finally, the usually ho-hum character that is Matt Parkman is divorced from his wife, totally eliminating more boring plotlines. Mohinder Suresh is back to lecturing about human evolution… or so it seems.
There are lots of events transpiring behind the scenes and I won’t spoil them too much. There are also brand new characters in the form of a twin brother and sister with special powers, but it is still unclear on what they really do. So far we’ve only seen that one of the twins, Maya, can make people around her bleed to death, and that her brother Alejandro is the only one unaffected.
And also, Peter Petrelli is back! At the beginning of the 1st episode it is implied that Peter died during the bomb explosion. But he is actually alive with a new haircut too, the only problem is: he can’t remember anything, not even his name! It is also implied that there is a new super villain in town who is currently only shown as a pair of evil eyes that haunts Molly’s dreams.
We also have nine untold elder people with special abilities, who used to work together for a good cause. These nine people included Linderman, Charles Deveaux, Kaito Nakamura (Hiro’s dad), Angela Petrelli (Nathan and Peter’s mom) and her husband. The rest is still unrevealed.
All in all, the new season is still as interesting and exciting as the first season. Each episode almost always ended in a cliffhanger spot in the 1st season. It seems that the same trend is being applied in the 2nd, leaving the watcher craving for more!
